Purpose:
The module ESRI2GRD is used to translate ESRI ASCII-format grid files into SURFER-7 binary grid files. A typical application is to convert the grids with runoff parameters (as they were constructed under ArcView Spatial Analyst) for modelling under SURFER.
Data requirements:
ESRI grid files in ASCII format. They need to be generated under ArcView Spatial Analyst with the menu options
File / Export Data Source / ASCII Raster
Required user inputs:
The values set in the module DB2GRD are carried over automatically. However, the user may specify any directory.
The specification of the directory for system data, although visible, is not relevant for this module.
User settings are not stored in the file runoff.ini in the Windows directory.
The process is started by pressing the button "Start Conversion" and cannot be interrupted.
The names of grid files already converted are listed in a window. Once the process is completed, the text FINISHED!! is shown in the same window.
Module output:
SURFER-7 binary grid files *.grd. The files are stored in the same directory as the input ESRI grid files.
