Data Model of the Pre-Processing Module

The Pre-Processing Module has been developed under MS-Access. Being a data base application, the data model is organised in a very systematic way.

In the data flow, three different features have to be distinguished:

• Online / Offline dataflow and their interchange
• Specific data flow, i.e.
  from monitoring and general look-up tables
  via various intermediate tables (only a few when compared to the irrigation module)
  to STP-tables for storage of results.
• Log-tables in order to store, recall and modify all user entries.

Generally, it is distinguished between online and offline operation. Online operation uses tables from ORACLE and writes the results back into STP-tables under ORACLE. All options and individually chosen parameters are written into LOG-tables.

In addition to the tables from relational databases (ORACLE and Access), GIS files are used for spatial selection.
