On the left part of the output map are the Map Navigation buttons. Each is button is activated by clicking on it. It will then show to be "depressed" or down, while all other buttons will show up.
The buttons are:

Zoom In (cursor changes into the same symbol as shown on that button): use the cursor to draw the zoom rectangle (just clicking into the map will not work. |

Zoom Out - (cursor changes into the same symbol as shown on that button): click with the cursor into the map to zoom out. The new map center will be the place where you were clicking. |

Pan - (cursor changes into the same symbol as shown on that button): use the corsor to shift the map around. This works only if you had zoomed in before. |

Zoom to whole map (cursor does not change) - map immediately zooms to maximum extends of the layers presently active. |
